Questions?

Thank you for your interest in partnering with One More Child to make a difference in the lives of children. Do you have a question that isn’t answered here? Send an email to our Orphan Sunday Coordinator.

What is Orphan Sunday?

On November 11th, we celebrate Orphan Sunday, a day when we partner with Christian Alliance for Orphans to celebrate a God who defends the fatherless, helps the helpless and stands in the gap for those who have been abandoned, neglected or abused. Reflect His love by helping care for thousands of orphans in Florida and millions of orphans around the world by partnering with One More Child.

  • 153 million children worldwide have lost either one or both parents (UNICEF)
  • 18 million children have lost both parents (UNICEF)
  • In 2017, more than 16,000 children in Florida were removed from their homes due to investigations of abuse, abandonment and/or neglect (Department of Children and Families)

How can I partner with One More Child on Orphan Sunday?

To change the life of One More Child you can:

  • Host a diaper drive to help us reach our goal of 800,000 diapers by November 11
  • Help spread our message by having an Orphan Sunday event that encourages your congregation to purposefully bless one more child
  • Host a child sponsorship event to get food, water and supplies in the hands of underprivileged kids
  • Schedule a speaker who will educate, empower and inspire your group to ensure no child is left alone

What does an Orphan Sunday event look like?

Each local Orphan Sunday event is customized and individualized by the coordinator.  Past events have included Sunday morning sermons, prayer gatherings, educational seminars, video showings focusing on the orphan crisis, Sunday School
class events, student-led
fundraisers, foster and adoptive family recruiting, live concerts and more.

What resources are available as I plan my Orphan Sunday event?

Promotional resources will be made available soon. You can also visit our Orphan Sunday church resources page for videos, posters, and other materials to make your day even more impactful.

Do you have speakers available for Orphan Sunday events?

Yes. We would love to speak at your event, and will meet requests based on availability of our speakers. Be sure to request a speaker today!

What is the Orphan Sunday Diaper Drive?

The Orphan Sunday diaper drive is our annual effort to collect 800,000 individual diapers for children served through foster care, single mom’s ministry, adoption and compassion ministries, as well as internationally through One More Child.

Our current need is more than 60,000 diapers per month, and the need is growing.

Can individuals give online to make a difference through the diaper drive?

Absolutely. To give toward the diaper drive online, go to the diaper drive give now page. For a gift to be counted toward a church goal, individuals may add their church name on their donation form.

What specific diaper sizes are needed for children in care?

All sizes of diapers are needed and appreciated. Diapers for older children (sizes 4 and above), including pull-ups, are especially needed.

Can I make a monetary donation by check to go toward the diaper drive?

Yes. Monetary donations are appreciated and will be used to purchase diapers as needed. Checks can be made out to “OMC” with “diaper drive” in the memo and mailed to:
