“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has RISEN” Luke 24:5-6 (emphasis added)
Happy Easter everyone!!!
In Guatemala, Easter Week (Holy Week) is celebrated with processions, which are like parades with large wooden floats depicting a scene from the Passion of Christ. These processions are carried by men and women (men carrying Jesus and women carrying Mary) all throughout each city.
Before the processions pass by, each family or business decorates the streets with colorful carpets made of sawdust, pine needles and flowers. Some of these take hours to finish!
Many believers participate in this celebration of the Passion of Christ. Moments that allow them to reflect on what He did for us by living, dying and resurrecting for us! Because:
“If Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith” 1 Corinthians 15:14 NIV
The message shared this month with the sponsored families centered around the passion of Christ and that through Him us, too, can have this eternal promised life one day. We trust in His word when He said:
“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.” John 11:25 NIV
