According to a recent study done by the United Nations, women in Guatemala are vulnerable to suffer from three different kinds of discrimination: ethnic, gender and socio-economical. On March 8th, we celebrated “Women’s Day”. We took this opportunity to celebrate this important day with the entire community!
This month, over 300 children came back to the Center with their families to pick up their food basket provided to them through the Sponsorship Program. Typically the family members that come with the children are their mothers. At One More Child, we make our biggest efforts to encourage and love on these women and their families.
These ladies make huge sacrifices to be able to sustain their families, care for their children, and do what they can so that their children have a better future. Just look at some of these precious cute faces!
We were very happy to celebrate International Women’s Day with them, by sharing the unconditional love that God has for all of us and remind them of the important role that they play in their families, communities and our society.
Please join us in prayer for these women that care for their children, doing hard work that many times is overlooked. We pray that God may continue to give them the strength and love they need to provide for their families. We are truly grateful for these women and and all they do!
