….David and Ashley Robinson!
They are well known by family and friends for their infectious smiles and their grateful, gracious hearts.
At One More Child, we are celebrating the smiles David and Ashley Robinson have brought to foster children, and to our staff, by recognizing them as our 2018 Foster Parents of the Year.
David, 29, and Ashley, 30, were one of the first families to live in one of our Foster Family Homes when they became licensed foster parents in 2014, and since then they have provided loving care to 12 foster children, and made it their mission to lovingly come alongside the biological families whenever possible.
David is a youth pastor at Jonesville Baptist Church in Newberry and Ashley is a stay-at-home mom to six children in the couple’s care, including a 5-year-old and 3-year old brother who they adopted, and four sisters – ages 7, 3, 2 and 9 months – who they are fostering.
“You just see the love the two pour into them,” said Bonne Evans, Gainesville Director of Foster Care for One More Child.” They stay involved in trips and activities and take them camping and they are just really inspiring to be around.”
The Robinson family regularly invites biological family of the children in their care to special occasions like birthdays and they often make long drives to ensure their adoptive and foster children can stay in contact with them.
Ashley has expressed to our staff the joy of being able to share Christ with the biological mother of her adoptive parents.
“It’s like joy just emanates from her,” Bonne said of Ashley. “When she walks into a room – no matter what you’re feeling, her smile is just contagious and you can’t help but smile.”
