It is hard to believe that today is our last full day here in the Dominican Republic! Time has flown by. We have been blessed in so many ways during this trip, however, being able to witness today’s events took the cake. Our day started with breakfast at 6:30am, devotion which was led by Randy at 7am, then headed off to the community site in El Carrizal.

We completed the structure of our house today by pouring the second phase of concrete. Cesar had scheduled for a larger crew to help, which was great because it gave us a chance to meet the full Dominican team with the exception of one (who was ill and were able to complete the second phase of pouring concrete. What a blessing to see the progress we have made since day one.

After doing construction, we were able to witness the first 13 families move into their home. Some families have been waiting for this day for 1 1/2 to 2 years. It was so incredible to be a part of that and pride these families took in their new homes. This is definitely a day we will never forget. After that, we led a children’s ministry with 160+ children. God is so great!

Once we got back to the apartment we had dinner, showered, and ice cream. It was an eventful day, but we would not change one aspect of it. This trip has been full of surprises that we never imagined being able to take part in. What a great week we will NEVER forget!!
