Forty-two families are moved in and electricity.
Maribel Santaperez, the mother of two teens, is counting her blessings this Christmas and safe.
Maribel, along with others from the community, are taking part in church services, Bible studies, literacy classes and other opportunities at the Community Transformation Center, which is located only steps from their homes.
By Christmas there will be 66 homes that have been completed.
The need is still great this Christmas
There is still work to be done to complete the project, with funding for 34 more homes still needed to reach the goal of 100.
A gift of $12,500 builds a single-family home that can transform lives and eternities.
One Florida family is making a special gift this Christmas to bless families in the Dominican Republic in a way that will forever be part of their own family’s legacy. Ann Trinkle is making a gift that provides for two homes – one in honor of her husband another in honor of her daughter, Rebecca Rothman.
“We were amazed at the quality of the homes for the amount of money it takes to build!” Ann Trinkle said, “Matthew 25:40 says, ‘The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Our family wants to be found faithful in caring for those who Jesus teaches us to care for. The homes in the DR do just that!”
Rebecca said the gift absolutely thrilled her and it backs up, through action, an often heard phrase her parents used during her childhood: “You can never out-give God.”
“The generosity of the Trinkle family and stability to their futures. Most importantly, they will hear about the great love of Jesus Christ.”
