This is my third trip to the Malnutrition Center in San Juan with One More Child. I think it would be safe to say that this ministry has captured my heart. Something that was said during our time of group sharing yesterday by one of the summer interns currently serving here really resonated with me. She spoke of how encouraging it is to see God use each and every willing heart to make an impact in a unique and meaningful way, despite the limited time we may have here.
This reminded me of the following verse: “Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” (Eph. 3:20)
The extraordinary calling each follower of Christ has on his or her life is most often fulfilled through doing very ordinary and sometimes mundane things. I think what God can do in and through you is most clearly seen in the rear-view mirror We often more fully comprehend all that God is able to accomplish once we reflect on the progress made in and through our ministry efforts, as well as be able to recognize the spiritual growth that takes place in our own lives. That was my experience with the previous two trips and I am sure it will be with this one as well. Since my first trip in 2015, I clearly see all the tremendous strides that have been made in the One More Child ministry here in Guatemala. This is a testament to God’s mighty power that is shown through the willing hearts of those who proclaim His name to accomplish more than we might ask or think. And I can personally testify that with each trip I have participated in with this wonderful ministry my heart has been touched and molded by the fingerprints of God.
To God be all the glory!
