We felt more comfortable with our assignments today and were looking forward to seeing the children whose names we now know. One More Child asks us to pray over each child as we’re working with him or her. The children will be at the Center until they’re healthy and then they go home to their parents. The Center feeds them physically and One More Child feeds them spiritually. How exciting to think our Lord is using these children’s illness to teach them about Him! When children go back to their village, they can tell stories of Daniel and the Lion’s Den, they can tell how God made everything, how God loves them, how God hears them when they pray, how Jesus died for them.
A few more team members have fallen ill with this stomach problem. We pray the children stay healthy and we are praying no one else on the team gets sick.
We have been told not to have “favorites”, but we can have “nonfavorites”. 🙂 Yes, we each have a few nonfavorites. The kids are just adorable! Truly precious.
Half of our mission team are youth. It is wonderful to see how God is using them to help. They are able to do almost everything that needs to be done and are happy to do it. They especially love feeding and holding the babies.
A little girl was brought here today for the first time and she cried all day for her mama. Her mom wasn’t able to support her on her own. She knew about the Center and brought her here. Here this girl will be well taken care of with healthy food, love, and of course the Message of Jesus Christ.
We are so exhausted after this hard day of work! Many of us are heading to bed early and can’t even make it to dinner. Amazing how the nannies at the Center do this 12 hours a day, 6 days a week.
