Only God can take a teenager with broken relationships and a broken past and give her renewed hope to practice healthy ways to communicate feelings in restored relationships.
Only God can rescue two precious children from horrific trauma and give them new life that is surrounded with examples of loving mothers and fathers who help build and restore what it feels like to be loved and wanted.
Only God can use the Surbers — One More Child licensed foster parents — to do Kingdom work when they welcome children from challenging circumstances into their home.
Larry and Lori have been licensed foster parents since 2018. During the past two and a half years, they have loved and cared for 10 children!
The Surbers began their foster care journey with the hope to restore broken families and care for children. “God calls us to specifically care for widows and orphans,” they said. With their love, these children can see the love of Christ.
One lesson the couple has learned is that we cannot simply speak about the love of Jesus, but we must SHOW the love of Jesus.
As their adventure continues, the couple will surely have days of hurt and difficulty, but they also know there is great joy ahead.
“We are SO BLESSED to have the peace of knowing God is in control. He is the One who changes hearts, the One who heals, the One who restores. He is the One!”
