Jerry T. Haag, Ph.D., CFP®

President/CEO

Dr. Jerry Haag is the president/CEO of One More Child. During his tenure as president, he has guided the expansion of ministry sites from nine locations in Florida to more than 50 locations around the globe. Under his presidency, One More Child has launched its Anti-Trafficking, Child Hunger, Single Moms, Family Support (prevention) and Global programs to meet immediate and long-term needs of children and families. Under Dr. Haag’s leadership, One More Child has increased from serving 3,351 children and individuals in 2007 to more than 473,993 in 2022.

Dr. Haag earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in finance from Baylor University and earned a Ph.D. in finance and real estate in 1995 from the University of Texas at Arlington. He has led and participated in humanitarian aid, emergency relief, childcare and ministry to children and families in countries around the world.

Dr. Haag was appointed to serve on the Florida Faith-based and Community-based Advisory Council by 3 governors and served as the chair. He also serves on the board of directors of the Christian Alliance for Orphans (CAFO), where he has chaired its Faith and Foster Care Research Team and served on the President’s Advisory Council. In addition, Dr. Haag has served on the board for Hines Ugandan Ministry since 2018.

Because of Dr. Haag’s experience and leadership in launching global, prevention, and anti-trafficking programs, he has been invited on numerous occasions to share our organization’s expertise with national and world leaders – to include the United States Health and Human Services, the White House, the President’s Office of the Dominican Republic (in coordination with President Danilo Medina) and the Office of the First Lady of Guatemala (in coordination with First Lady Patricia Marroquin de Morales).

Dr. Haag is passionate about long-term policy change to impact vulnerable children, and he had the pleasure of participating in a distinguished seminar on Religion and U.S. Foreign Policy, sponsored by the Institute on Culture, Religion and World Affairs at Boston University.

He preaches regularly in churches throughout the nation, and he and his wife, Christi, also enjoy speaking together. Additionally, he has authored, presented and published academic articles relating to his business expertise and has been honored several times for his business, professional and civic achievements.

In 2018, Dr. Haag was awarded the 2018 George W. Truett Distinguished Service Award by the Baylor Line Foundation and was honored at its Hall of Fame Gala for his exceptional leadership in meeting the needs of children around the world.

Dr. Haag has served on the faculty and administration of both public and private universities, and he was named Baylor University’s Vice President for University Development in 2011, where he served before returning as president of One More Child.

From 2000-2007, Dr. Haag served as president and CEO of the South Texas Children’s Home in Beeville. He also has corporate work experience with AT&T and is a Certified Financial Planner.

Dr. Haag and Christi have been married for more than 3 decades and live in Lakeland, FL. Christi is a renowned speaker, thought influencer and spokewoman for One More Child.  Their eldest son, Ben and his wife Maddie live and work in Dallas, TX and their youngest son, Brady and his wife Katie reside and work in Denver, CO.

Andrew Tattrie, D.Min.

Vice President of Global

Andrew Tattrie joined One More Child in 2014, and served in several key roles before being promoted in 2017 to Vice President of Global.

He has overseen the launch of our child sponsorship program and has been instrumental in the creation and development of our medical mission trips and feeding program sites. Andrew brings tremendous leadership skills to this position. Andrew and his family served as long-term missionaries in Costa Rica and Uruguay, and as short-term missionaries throughout Latin America and Africa. He is bi-lingual and adept at speaking and writing Spanish.

He was born and raised in Charlottetown, PEI, Canada. Andrew graduated with a diploma from Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, New York, in 1996, and he earned his bachelor’s degree from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, in 1999. He has also earned master’s degrees from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and from the University of South Florida; He graduated with his doctorate degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2019.

Andrew and his wife, Crystal, have four children: Nathaniel, Emilia, Abigail and Jonathan. They enjoy ministering together as a family locally and internationally, and they serve in teaching and leadership roles in their local church in Lakeland, FL.

Prior to joining One More Child, Andrew was a teacher and an administrator for more than 11 years in Polk County, and he also worked in the missions department at his church.

Rebeka Corgan

Executive Director of Global Programs

Rebeka joined the One More Child family in January 2019 and currently serves as Executive Director of Global Programs. She is originally from Iowa and then moved to Florida from Wyoming in 1998. She was a teacher in public and private schools for nearly 20 years. She was also a full-time children’s minister for a large church before joining One More Child.

Rebeka has always had a passion for missions and for reaching children for Christ all around the world. She strives to follow God’s word from Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”

Alan Andrews

Director of Global Partnerships

Alan joined the One More Child staff in March of 2017 as Director of Foster Care Ministries in Bradenton and directed both the Bradenton/Sarasota and Pasco/Pinellas area foster care programs.  Since August of 2021 he has served as Director of Global Partnerships.

He was born and raised in Alabama, and he studied at the University of Mobile and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  Alan and his family worked overseas, primarily in South America, for 13 years, and he is bi-lingual in Spanish.

Alan and his wife Melissa are foster and adoptive parents, and they have three children. He has a love for the game of baseball and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.

Alejandra Búrbano

National Director for Guatemala

Alejandra Búrbano joined One More Child in March 2010 and currently serves as the National Director for Guatemala. Born and raised in La Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala she graduated from La Salle High School in 2007 and went on to be certified as a legal translator through the Guatemala Department of Education in 2011. She graduated in 2018 with a degree in business administration from the University Rafael Landívar.

In 2007, Alejandra’s life was changed and a passion for missions was born after she went on her first mission trip to Los Chucles, Huehuetenango in Guatemala. God uses her missions heart and passion for serving children and others in helping with impacting the life of one more child through developing faith-based and social programs for the materially poor families that One More Child ministers to, as well as helping coordinate ministry projects for One More Child mission teams at the Malnutrition Center in San Juan Sacatepéquez. She is also part of the team responsible for managing the Child Sponsorship Program.

Heather Ryan

Director of Global Missions

Heather joined the One More Child team in 2023 and currently serves as our Director of Global Missions. She was born and raised in the same Florida town where our One More Child headquarters is located. She enjoys the local downtown farmers market, long lake walks and the local small business community. As a proud Florida Gator, she graduated from the University of Florida with her Bachelors in Organizational Leadership. 

Prior to One More Child, Heather worked at several start-up non-profit organizations and church ministries in program management and team development in Gainesville, FL, Kenya and Haiti. She is conversationally fluent in Spanish and loves to bring people together from different cultures  through events, food, dance and travel. Heather is passionate about discipleship and sharing Jesus with the most vulnerable children and young adults across the nations. For fun, Heather loves to catch up with friends, play pickle ball and plan out her next adventure!

Bumba Dison

National Director for Uganda

Bumba Dison joined One More Child in January 2017 as the National Ministry Coordinator for East Africa, which includes our work in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. Bumba graduated from Uganda Christian University, Mukono in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science. He is currently completing his master’s degree in research of environmental science at Uganda Christian University.

Before joining One More Child, Bumba served as the assistant child sponsorship administrator for Hines Ugandan Ministries, a national ministry partner of One More Child. He also served on the construction and development committee providing technical advice on environmental sustainability. He has completed significant volunteer service and internship training with the Department of Natural Resources for the Pallisa and Mbale District local governments. His work and research in these contexts focused on various environmental impact assessments, developing plans for environmental sustainability, and monitoring forestry and conservation projects.

Born in the rural village of Kamonkoli, Uganda, Bumba came to know Christ at a young age. He was involved in the church growing up and benefited from a Christian child sponsorship program. He remains actively involved in church life serving in multiple roles such as music director, interpreter, and his favorite — games director for children’s AWANA each Saturday. Bumba’s passion for children continues to grow and he is able to influence young people to make good choices as they mature into young men and women.

Heather Vickers

Director of Global Partnerships and Grants

Heather Vickers joined One More Child in 2017 when she received a calling to serve children in need. She accepted the position of Director of Global Partnerships and Grants in 2022. She is eager to see what  God has planned for the ministry to make an immediate impact and eternal difference in the lives of children locally and globally.

Heather earned a bachelor’s degree in biological science from Auburn University. She spent over 15 years of her professional career working on water quality protection and restoration.Heather lives in Tallahassee with her sons and a four-legged friend named Boone. She enjoys running trail ultramarathons, camping, and backpacking in the mountains. She serves on the Missions Committee at Celebration Baptist Church and is vice president of the Gulf Winds Track Club.

José “Cesarín” Morban

National Director for Dominican Republic

José “Cesarín” Morban joined the One More Child family in 2015, serving as the National Director for Dominican Republic. Born in the capital, Santo Domingo, Cesarín has served in many different capacities over the years, working first in refrigeration and next as an electrician. He has more than 18 years of combined work experience in general contracting and the transportation industry—which makes him extra qualified for the work he does in the community of El Carrizal! He has a certificate of training in Systematic Theology from the Santo Domingo Theological Institute, and has been an integral part of the connection between One More Child and our ministry partner Iglesia Fundamento Bíblico.

Cesarín’ s responsibilities include working with One More Child teams, administering transportation and leadership to each group traveling to the Dominican Republic. He also oversees a team of Dominican construction workers that are helping to build homes and community in the municipality of El Carrizal. Additionally, with the help of a local social worker, Cesarín helped launch and maintain the Sponsorship Program for the ministry in the Dominican Republic. He is a dedicated worker and servant of the Lord!

When he is not working with teams or construction work, you can find Cesarín assisting in his local church or enjoying his favorite meal of Guandules and coconut.

Karen Mesa

National Child Sponsorship Coordinator for Dominican Republic

Dr. Karen Mesa, general practitioner, officially joined the One More Child family in October 2015, after having volunteered her services previously. Karen serves as a social worker in the Dominican Republic, providing care for children in our feeding ministry and sponsorship program. Dr. Mesa’s medical skills are also critical in overseeing the health of the children in our care, ensuring the children have an appropriate growth for their age and that they have a positive upbringing. Her skills as a certified Biblical counselor with conflict management training are a great asset.

Karen maintains positive working relationships with national governmental institutions to provide ongoing training for parents in our ministry. She also maintains relationships with area doctors, specialists and hospital directors and assumes a large leadership role with medical mission teams that come to the Dominican Republic.

Dr. Mesa’s passion is to serve for the glory of God and claims the best part of her job is notifying a family that has been sponsored.

Karen Morán

Director for Latin America Training and Initiatives.

Karen Morán joined One More Child in 2022 and currently serves as the Director for Latin America Training and Initiatives.

Karen is an international relations professional with specializations and a graduate degree in Administration of Projects and Family Sciences. She has worked in various fields such as international organizations, non-governmental organizations and the private sector of tourism. She has participated in the management of multi-sector and high-level projects with organizations at a regional level in Central America, the Caribbean, the Middle East and North America. She worked in various areas such as training development, monitoring and evaluation of cultural exchange projects, events in the tourism sector, human rights, children’s rights, prevention of youth violence, education, and family and marriage mediation. She was recently the director of a safe house for victims of sex-trafficking with a faith-based non-profit ministry in Costa Rica.

Karen is a middle child, born in El Salvador but raised in three different countries in Latin America. She loves to travel, practice sports, go hiking and take walks in nature. Karen appreciates time with her family and friends as she currently lives in beautiful Costa Rica.

Keren Perez

Director of Child Sponsorship

Keren became a part of One More Child in January 2021 as a Child Sponsorship Assistant, and currently serves as the Director of Child Sponsorship. She is originally from Havana, Cuba and moved to the United States when she was 10 years old. She is bilingual, as her first language is Spanish. Keren graduated from Southeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Services Minor.

Prior to joining One More Child, Keren worked as a children’s counselor for afterschool and summer camp activities. She loves children and being able to make an impact in their lives! Growing up in an impoverished nation herself, Keren’s dream has always been to give back to communities like her own. She has a passion for people all around the world and hopes to one day visit every nation. She loves being a part of an organization that shares Jesus so fervently and being a helping hand to those who need it.

Laura Jones

Long-Term Missionary to Uganda

Laura first joined the One More Child family in the spring of 2010 as a participant on a short-term missions team to Guatemala. She served in Guatemala for a week in 2010 and a week in 2011. Laura knew from a young age that she would end up on the foreign mission field, and at the age of 15, God specifically called her to Uganda. She served with One More Child in Uganda for two weeks in 2012 and as an intern for six weeks in 2016. 

Now, Laura works as an Instructional Coach at Genesis Primary School in Uganda where she teaches kindergarten through 7th grade and works in both small group and whole group classroom instruction. She works with all of the classroom teachers, empowering them to introduce new teaching strategies that promote critical thinking and active learning environments. She also assists with our Child Sponsorship Program, teaches Sunday School and works with our Awana and Saturday feeding programs.

In addition, Laura leads our short-term mission teams to Uganda and oversees our summer intern program! Her greatest desire is for every person to know they are loved by Jesus Christ and to find joy in their unique purpose in life.

Laura grew up in Niceville, Florida, and she served often with First Baptist Church of Niceville. Laura graduated from the University of Florida in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and also earned her master’s in Curriculum and Instructional Development. She was a teacher in Alachua County for several years before moving to Uganda full time in July of 2017.

Laura Matamoros Molina

National Child Sponsorship Coordinator for Costa Rica

Laura Matamoros Molina is from San José, Costa Rica, and is currently serving with her with husband, Pastor Mauro in Tirrases.

Together they are serving through their church in a local community and providing critical resources and ministry to many vulnerable children and struggling families through a variety of outreach programs, such as a feeding ministry, child sponsorship, soccer and taekwondo ministries and more.

Laura grew up in a low-income family and higher education was not possible for a long time. However, after much hard work, she now has a bachelor’s degree in education. She also has achieved certifications in technology programs and is currently studying English. She has goals to continue her education in administration. She desires to continue her education and training in order to better serve the Kingdom of God. She is a great asset to our global team!

Laura has a passion for children so she loves working with One More Child in the child sponsorship and feeding programs. Her desire is that each child and family will be impacted by the love of God, that their lives will be transformed, and that they will know Jesus truly loves and cares for them.
