Alfredo Valencia

Director of Global Childcare

Alfredo Valencia joined One More Child in January 2018.

Born in Cali, Colombia, Alfredo first received a biblical studies diploma from Southwest Baptist Conference Seminary in San Gabriel, California. Alfredo went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Biola University in La Mirada, California and ultimately graduated with his master of divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, California.

Prior to joining One More Child, Alfredo was contracted with the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina (BSCNC) as Strategy Mission Mobilizer for one year. Before his stent with BSCNC, Alfredo and his wife of 25 years, Alexandra, were duly commissioned-career missionaries for the International Mission Board (IMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). With more than 13 years of cross-cultural missions experience, Alfredo has provided biblical church planting strategies in places like Chile and leadership in church global strategy mobilization across Latin America.

Alfredo and Alexandra also have three beautiful daughters: Angella, their eldest daughter, lives and studies at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, Tennessee; Ashley, their second daughter, is a senior at North Greenville University in Greenville, South Carolina; Allison, their youngest daughter, is a graduating senior at Hickory Grove Christian School in Charlotte, North Carolina. All three girls have a rich understanding of cross-cultural missions and experiences with an extensive worldview because of Alfredo and Alexandra’s global missions commitment.

Alfredo’s favorite bible verse is Colossians 1:16, where the Apostle Paul states, “For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. His vision of the mission is that, “the mission is not about us, but about him.  If so, everything must be done for his glory.”
