One More Child hosted a phenomenal women’s global prayer movement last fall through She Loves Out Loud Global. Thousands of women all around the world came together to share each other’s stories and struggles, and to lift each other up in prayer. We have been so encouraged to hear the desire of many women to take action and make an impact in the lives of vulnerable children and struggling families around the world. Our ministry partners in Guatemala have been helping meet the physical and spiritual needs of vulnerable children and struggling families since 2008.

A vibrant nation that is rich in Mayan heritage, Guatemala continues to develop after years of civil and ethnic unrest. Guatemala has the 6th highest rate of growth stunting of children due to malnutrition, according to a 2019 UNICEF report. About 1 million children under the age of 5 suffer from chronic malnutrition. Stunted growth can cause severe development delays and increases the risk of death. There is work to be done, and we need mission volunteers to come alongside us and support this ministry! Through targeted feeding programs, integrated social work counseling and education accountability, children and families in our programs have access to the support they need to thrive. Lives are being changed in Guatemala because of people like you!

We are excited to see how the Lord will work in your life and in your fellow team members’ lives not only leading up to your mission trip and while you are serving in Guatemala but also upon your return home.  This is an exciting time to be the hands and feet of Christ and be able to serve some of the most amazing children and families in the world!

ON YOUR MISSION TRIP YOU MAY HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

• • Minister to children through VBS activities.
  • Volunteer your time at the ministry center, a nearby school, the senior center, or several offsite ministries.
  • Participate in passing out donations and food baskets, as well as provide special training to families.
  • Help with various maintenance projects and/or ongoing construction projects.
  • Tour a coffee plantation, take a walking tour of the city, or visit the local ruins.
  • Experience the wonderful people, history and culture of Antigua.
