Mission Update from One More Child

Every week, the leadership and staff of One More Child come together for prayer and devotion to celebrate the encouraging development in our ongoing mission to serve vulnerable children and struggling families, all for the glory of God.

Here is a glimpse into the good news of the recent activities and accomplishments at One More Child:

Anti-Trafficking

Our Ohio Anti-Trafficking Mobile Team spoke at an event hosted by the Ohio Crime Prevention Association last week. The audience, which included police officers, social workers, and private citizens, heard insights on global and statewide trafficking trends, relevant statutes, exploited vulnerabilities, and services provided by our Cincinnati Mobile Team. The session concluded with a tour of the Hamilton County Crime Lab and Coroner’s Office, followed by a question and answer session.

Foster Care

Recently, One More Child’s Azinger Compassion Center received a donation of an entire semi-truckload of strawberries! Seeing an opportunity to serve, Tiffany, one of our dedicated licensing specialists, was inspired to make strawberry jam for all the foster families under her care. Though we are not surprised by Tiffany’s generosity, this story exemplifies the above-and-beyond love our staff has for those they work with – making jam for our families was a natural expression of Tiffany’s genuine care and compassion. We are grateful to serve alongside you, Tiffany!

Global

Despite a slight delay, our mission team from Miami is setting foot in Costa Rica, committed to bringing hope and transformation through their service there, while we also have a medical mission team serving in Cucuta, Colombia. One More Child also has a team gearing up for a trip to Uganda, eager to continue our mission of compassion. We also covet your continued prayers for the children and families we serve in Haiti and Ukraine. Thank you for your continued prayers and support as we lead our teams in touching the lives of the vulnerable children and struggling families we serve across the globe.

Family Support

West Side Baptist Church in Daytona came through big in a recent diaper drive, collecting an impressive 6,000 diapers for One More Child. They didn’t realize we were low on larger sizes in Jacksonville, but their generosity helped fill our shelves and put smiles on the faces of the families we serve. We made sure to thank them with a fun video showing the impact of their donation. This reminds us that the need for diapers is ongoing, but with support from amazing churches like West Side, One More Child can meet it head-on.

Special Events

One More Child recently hosted tours for two groups at our Lakeland campus. One visitor generously gave a financial gift, which was greatly appreciated. Additionally, we welcomed back a church group that hadn’t visited in 10 years. Both were deeply impressed by the work One More Child is doing, and it was truly an honor to share our progress with them.

One More Child, formerly Florida Baptist Children’s Homes, recently celebrated 120 of service. Check out our highlights.

Thank you for your continued prayer and consistent support as we strive to provide Christ-centered services to vulnerable children and struggling families.
