From the Desk of Dr. Haag

Each Thanksgiving, Christi and I reflect on your faithful generosity with such gratitude! The children in our care are experiencing the hope of Christ as they are impacted by your partnership. We truly cannot thank you enough!

For many of us, Thanksgiving represents a time of celebration with family, fellowship, and food. Unfortunately, for many of the children we serve, the holidays are painful reminders of the brokenness, sadness, and loss they have experienced in their lives – trauma that most of us could never imagine.

What an honor it is to stand with you and care for vulnerable children by extending the love of Christ! When I think of children you have impacted, Kyle’s* story comes to mind.

At just three months old, Kyle came into the foster care system after a three-week stay at a children’s hospital where he was treated for 17 different bone fractures. In his short life, Kyle had already experienced deep suffering, unthinkable trauma, and severe abuse.

In the providence of God, Kyle’s foster dad, Billy*, worked at that same hospital as a pediatric physical therapist. Once Billy knew that his family would be bringing Kyle home, Billy was able to begin bonding with Kyle for the remainder of his hospitalization

After he was discharged from the hospital, Kyle was warmly welcomed into his new One More Child foster home by Billy’s wife, Amy*, and their son, James*. Billy and Amy quickly began working toward Kyle’s adoption. After two years, Kyle was finally adopted into the Siesel* family!

Kyle is now a thriving toddler, safe in his forever home, and loved beyond measure. We rejoice knowing that for the rest of his life, the holidays for Kyle will no longer be defined by brokenness and sadness, but joy and hope for the future!

We need your financial support more than ever! Your generous gift will help us ensure that children are safe and fed as they are placed in loving, Christian homes. Would you give generously this Thanksgiving for one more child like Kyle?

Just as the Apostle Paul expresses in 2 Corinthians 4:15, the grace of God that is reaching more and more children is causing our hearts to overflow with thanksgiving (NIV). Thank you for your heart to serve children!
