“Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Matthew 19:14
In Scripture, Jesus makes it clear how we should view children in the Kingdom of God: valued, blessed, and cherished. Every year around this time we have a collective opportunity to honor and celebrate children with the recognitions of International Children’s Day on June 1 and National Children’s Day on June 8.
These days exist to promote the rights and well-being of children, raise awareness about the issues children face globally, and celebrate the joys of childhood.
At One More Child, we believe all children should have a childhood full of love, belonging, joy, adventure, and fun. In our national and global programs and initiatives, we advance the flourishing of all children and provide families with the support they need to create childhoods of wonder and possibility, grounded in love and security.
Our Approach

Our approach is comprehensive, holistic, and interconnected. We support the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of children, including those in foster care, those facing food insecurity, those experiencing instability in the home, and those who have endured exploitation.
We serve children in crisis. This includes acute hunger, abuse, maltreatment, neglect, and sexual exploitation. Without intervention, trauma will consume childhoods of those in these crisis situations. It is our goal to interrupt cycles of poverty and abuse by meeting tangible needs and introducing the hope of Jesus.
We strengthen children at risk. We don’t simply want to intervene during critical moments of suffering, we want to prevent situations from ever reaching that point. By strengthening children and families with resources and guidance, we can shift families’ perspective from simply avoiding crisis to moving towards flourishing.
We empower children to thrive. Once the basic needs of food, shelter, safety, stability, belonging, and love are met, children can begin to thrive. Through adventure, education, and counseling, children can blossom and discover their dreams and passions. This is our desire for all children, and we will continue working until this dream becomes reality.
National and Global Impact
One More Child’s national impact extends to vulnerable children and struggling families in 26 states. Our range of services include direct care, counseling and guidance, resource distribution, and more. We serve five primary vulnerable populations: foster children, hungry children, trafficked children, single moms, and struggling families. Click on each icon below to learn more about our programs.
Globally, One More Child reaches 19 countries, collaborating with ministry partners to serve vulnerable children and families in developing countries. By working with local partners, we are able to ensure our care is culturally relevant and community driven. The means and method by which we serve may differ for each location, but in every location, we seek to provide food and clean water, offer medical care, establish a means to receive education, and share the Gospel.
One primary way we accomplish this is through our Child Sponsorship program. When you sponsor a child, you are putting compassion into action by providing tangible support and sharing the hope of Jesus with children living in impoverished communities. For only $42 a month you can bring transformational—and sometimes life-saving—care to a child in need. Child Sponsorship directly addresses the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of children, setting them up to have joyful childhoods and successful futures.
Serve, Strengthen, Empower
One More Child is serving children in crisis, strengthening children at risk, and empowering children to thrive—and you can join us! There are many different ways to get involved in our mission, including through volunteerism, giving, and sponsoring a child.
Together, we can make a greater impact than we could apart. Today, you can make a difference in the life of one more child.
