“My social workers recently visited me with news that set my life on a new course – I had become sponsored!
Even though I was born in a leper colony, I held onto the truth that our Father had carved a path for me. My hope was simple: to learn and make my family proud through education. Sponsorship was the tool that would help me reach this goal! As I excelled in my studies, the hand of God was evident.
My sponsorship was a consistent beacon of light in an environment often overshadowed by stigma and hardship. But my faith would soon be tested.
When I was 14, my uncle visited and declared that I was to be married. He presented this as a divine opportunity, a proposal that could not be dismissed without bringing dishonor to our family.
The man I was to marry was of stable means and had a good reputation, but I wanted to continue my education and serve the Lord. I shed many tears.
I clung to Psalm 23, trusting the Lord. To my astonishment, my husband and in-laws, were people of genuine kindness and support. When I shared my heart’s longing to continue my education, my husband became my advocate, assisting me in my studies.
I shared the Gospel of Christ with my new family, and it brought me infinite joy to witness my husband come to embrace the Lord, joining me in worship.
I write this to you now, a testimony of God’s mysterious ways, and to express my gratitude for the continued sponsorship. My commitment to serving Christ and my community has only deepened. So, I ask that you join me in prayers and that the Lord may use this journey to shine His light through me to touch more lives within our community.
