Education has the power to create opportunities, cultivate success, and invigorate hope. For a special group of students in Haiti, access to education transformed their lives.
One More Child works with our ministry team in Haiti to provide the opportunity for children to attend school who could not otherwise. Years ago, a group of 12 students received this blessing to attend preschool when they were three years old. Since then, they have continued their education resulting in all 12 of these students recently graduating from classical school.
As these 12 individuals enter young adulthood with a solid education, they reflected on how this school impacted them. They feel blessed for the education they received and expressed appreciation for good instruction and teachers who shared the Word of God. If it weren’t for this educational ministry established through One More Child, these students would not have attended school.
The students explained, “The mission not only taught us how to read and write, but it also allowed many of us to have access to school when our parents could not afford to send us…”
The students thanked a local pastor, Pastor Lexidan, who has dedicated himself to this ministry for many years. In 2000, Pastor Lexidan and his family established this great initiative and mission to help those with the greatest needs.
According to the students, “This mission [of Pastor Lexidan] has allowed us to finish school today.”
This ministry helps fulfill the dreams of many children and parents in Haiti by presenting educational opportunities. These 12 students started attending school at three years old— thanks to the generosity and dedication of ministry leaders in One More Child and partners in Haiti—and now, they are graduating with skills, knowledge, and a firm spiritual foundation that will help them build a brighter future.
This educational ministry will continue to provide opportunities and share the gospel with vulnerable children in Haiti. We pray that God continues to bless this ministry and lead more children to attend school every year.
