Leaders from One More Child and members of a partner church came together for a mission trip that provided critical, transformative care to a family in Costa Rica.  When the mission team arrived, our Costa Rica ministry partners were in the process of relocating a mother and her children, who are sponsored through One More Child.

Luisa* and her children needed help moving out of a dangerous domestic violence situation into a safe, secure home. The team stepped in and assisted with every aspect of the move: from packing and moving belongings to painting, unpacking, and organizing the new space. Their compassion extended beyond meeting physical needs; they also offered heartfelt prayers and spiritual support.

“In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.” 1 Peter 5:10 (NLT)

Luisa and her children experienced meaningful transformation, both in the tangible circumstances of their life and in their outlook for the future. The additional support from the mission team had a profound impact on this family by helping with the relocation, including organizing donations, and by providing renewed hope and stability.

The collaboration between the church members, One More Child leaders, and our ministry partners in Costa Rica made this incredible life change possible—and this is just one example of the impact that can happen when we work together. Partnerships, community connections, and collective action are vital in pursuit of the mission to reach vulnerable children and families.

“He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” Ephesians 4:16 (NLT)

The generosity and dedication of this mission team inspired and strengthened the resolve of our ministry partners. The team made a lasting impact—extending beyond the time they spent in Costa Rica— by advancing the ministry in Costa Rica to provide safety, healing, and empowerment to communities they serve.
