Every year, thousands of children across the U.S. are exploited, many of whom have passed through the child welfare system. According to the National Foster Youth Institute, 60% of child trafficking victims have a history in foster care. Many of these children are rescued during FBI raids targeting trafficking rings.

Our Work to Reach Vulnerable Foster Children

At One More Child, we are dedicated to providing safe, loving homes for foster children. Through licensing and supporting Christian families, we offer stability, care, and hope to vulnerable children. In 2023, we served 2,700 individuals, provided 154,947 days of care, and helped 148 children find a forever adoptive home.

But the work to protect vulnerable children is nowhere near complete. Still, there are too many young lives weighing in the balance, hoping that someone sees them amid their exploitation.

Missing and Trafficked Foster Children Awareness

From September 22-28, One More Child will participate in Missing and Trafficked Foster Children Awareness Week to raise awareness for children in the foster system who are at risk of trafficking.

On September 26, cities and landmarks across the country will light up blue for National BlueOut Day in support of missing and trafficked foster children. Cities and landmarks, including Los Angeles, Tampa, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, multiple state capitols, and the University of Kentucky, will light up blue in support of missing and trafficked foster children.
