FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Bishop-Parker Foundation Awards $50,000 to One More Child’s Azinger Family Compassion Center

BRADENTON, FL – Bishop-Parker Foundation recently awarded a $50,000 grant to One More Child’s Azinger Family Compassion Center to help children and families struggling with food insecurity throughout the Manatee County area.

One More Child’s Azinger Family Compassion Center, located in Palmetto, is a donation and distribution center that provides resources for foster children, hungry children, trafficked children, single moms, and struggling families.

“The Bishop-Parker Foundation’s support is truly a blessing,” said Stephen Robert, COO of One More Child. “When a child in this community goes to bed hungry, or when a single mom is brought to tears because she feels alone and doesn’t know if she can provide for her children, we must do something – and we are. This grant will enable us to directly help these children and families who need it the most.”

“Each grant cycle, we have an opportunity to continue building on the philanthropic legacies of our founders, Ned and Patty Bishop and Mary Parker,” said Wendy Deming, CEO of Bishop-Parker Foundation. “We want to ensure this great work continues throughout Bradenton and Manatee County.”

One More Child’s Azinger Family Compassion Center was established in 2021 as a distribution hub to provide essential resources such as food, clothing, diapers, hygiene items and other tangible supplies to vulnerable children and struggling families. With a commitment to help those who are vulnerable break the cycle of poverty, the center partners with individuals, businesses, churches, and community groups to reach those in need.

One More Child also operates the Harold Clark Simmons Compassion Center based in Lakeland which serves the central Florida area as well as other regions across the nation.

Last year, in the wake of two major back-to-back hurricanes, One More Child provided 5 million meals, more than 300,000 diapers, and many other essential items through its two compassion centers to those in hardest hit areas.

Plans are underway for a compassion center in Tampa and Jacksonville as One More Child continues to expand its services locally, nationally, and globally.
