12 mothers, ages 15 to 50, completed the Single Moms Community Program in Ohio, marking a milestone in their journeys toward creating brighter futures for their children.

Many participants face significant life challenges, such as homelessness and eviction, but program facilitators like One More Child’s Nadlin Antwi provide them with the support needed to overcome these hurdles.

During the 10TV segment, Antwi, a single mom herself, shared her passion for helping others navigate similar struggles. She described how the program offers life skills classes that range from resume building to cooking, all designed to foster independence.

Empowering Single Moms

to Achieve Self-Sufficiency

One More Child's Single Moms Community Program in Ohio, recently featured on 10TV WBNS Columbus, is making a meaningful impact on single mothers by providing them with tools to achieve self-sufficiency.

When the Work Hits Home

For Antwi, the work she is doing with single mothers hits home. Her own daughter was one of the participants who completed the program. “My daughter had a baby this June,” said Antwi. Explaining the program’s personal significance to her, she continued, “I wanted to make an impact in her life as well as other people going through the same thing.”

Through these workshops, moms gain practical knowledge that empowers them to make informed decisions, create nurturing home environments, and even learn how to prepare nutritious, cost-effective meals for their families. The program not only addresses parenting challenges but also focuses on personal growth. The mothers learn to balance their responsibilities while taking care of their well-being.

Post-graduation, facilitators like Antwi continue to check in with the moms every 30 days, continuing ongoing support and mentorship.

The ripple effect of this program is felt not only by the mothers but also by their children and communities, as these women apply what they’ve learned to build more stable, nurturing homes. One More Child remains committed to empowering more moms and helping them achieve lasting success.
