ONE MORE CHILD
The city of Lakeland, also known as ‘Swan City’, is located in Central Florida, midway between Tampa and Orlando with a current population of more than 110,000. Named after the numerous lakes in the area, it is a city that offers proximity to nature and the diverse Florida wildlife while numerous shopping areas and restaurants are never too far.
Even though there is much growth and prosperity in the area, more than 75,000 students face homelessness in Florida public schools. The state of Florida ranks among the top three US states in reported cases of human trafficking and it has the third highest number of children in foster care across the U.S. Our Lakeland campus Compassion Center serves many communities across Central Florida. MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES IN LAKELAND
Teams going on a mission trip to Lakeland have the opportunity to play a part in the holistic and comprehensive outreach programs executed by One More Child. Opportunities for teams going on mission in Lakeland may include:
- Assist in packing food boxes for families in the local community.
- Work on projects in the Compassion Center and around our One More Child campus.
- Work with inner city kids in our Hope Street program in Tampa.
- Help with our after-school program.
- Serve our foster families and single moms.
- Landscaping around our campus.
- Potential maintenance and construction around our campus.
- Special projects and events.

Sponsor a Child
Child Sponsorship meets the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of children all around the world. For only $42 a month you can provide critical nutrition, education, medical care, and opportunities to grow spiritually to a child in poverty. You will also be able to build a relationship with your sponsored child through letters. Join a global mission trip with One More Child to visit your sponsored child.
