At One More Child, our mission is to provide Christ-centered services to vulnerable children and struggling families. In honor of our generous partners who give support, time, and funds to expand the impact of One More Child, we have spent the last month thanking some of these partners on social media in our “Month of Gratitude.”
Month of Gratitude Recap
Community Partners
THANK YOU, Curious Jane! This marketing agency decided to give back this holiday season and partnered with One More Child to pack 7,000 meals for children and families facing food insecurity.
THANK YOU, Premier Trailer Leasing and Holland Logistics! With this partnership, we are raising awareness for anti-trafficking efforts and protecting the lives of those vulnerable to exploitation. This award-winning campaign brands trailers with One More Child’s “SEE IT, SAY IT, STOP IT” anti-trafficking messaging.
THANK YOU, Indian Rocks Baptist Church! A One More Child Board Member, Anna Shanks, brought her church together with One More Child to host a diaper drive. The church collected 25,221 diapers that will serve vulnerable children and families.
THANK YOU, Ticket to Dream and Famous Footwear! These partners took the extra step to support our foster children by providing gifts and fun holiday experiences. This is possible thanks to everyone who rounded up their purchase in stores and online at Famous Footwear.
THANK YOU, Junior League of Tampa! Staying true to its mission of being a catalyst for community change, this organization awarded One More Child a generous grant to support trafficking survivors in Tampa by meeting essential needs.
THANK YOU, Grace City Church! This church community recently partnered with One More Child for their “Serve Day.” In addition to the volunteers who showed up on this day, Grace City church members regularly volunteer at One More Child, and the church is involved in Foster Crews, Single Moms mentoring, and food drives.
Government Partners
THANK YOU, Gov. Ron DeSantis! Florida was hit hard this year by two back-to-back hurricanes, and in the wake of the storms, One More Child mobilized teams to serve those in need. However, with our headquarters in Lakeland, the Azinger Compassion Center in Bradenton, and multiple other locations across the state in the direct path of the storms, possible damage and power loss posed a hindrance to mobilizing quickly following the hurricanes.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis stepped in and partnered with One More Child to address this problem; he provided a Starlink system that would allow One More Child to maintain internet capabilities necessary for our operations. This made a monumental difference in One More Child’s impact following the hurricanes. Read more here.
THANK YOU, Attorney General Ashley Moody! One More Child and Attorney General Moody share a strong commitment to and steadfast partnership in eradicating child sex trafficking. Earlier this year, Attorney General Moody presented a Florida Cabinet resolution to One More Child, praising our role in supporting trafficking survivors and our contributions to the prevention of this heinous crime in Florida. Together, we can stop the evil practice of human trafficking.
THANK YOU, Rep. Jennifer Canady! Many people partnered with One More Child in our hurricane relief efforts this year, including State Representative Jennifer Canady (R-Lakeland). Prior to Hurricane Milton making landfall, Rep. Canady visited our headquarters to ensure we were equipped to continue serving our community efficiently following the storm. Then, after Hurricane Milton, Rep. Canady joined One More Child’s hurricane relief distribution event in Lakeland as we provided resources to those in need.
THANK YOU, Sheriff Grady Judd and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office! One More Child has a strong and consistent relationship with the Florida Sheriffs Association and local sheriffs’ offices. One of our most robust partnerships is with Sheriff Grady Judd and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office through our participation in anti-trafficking sting operations, including “Operation March Sadness” and “Operation Autumn Sweep.” Partnership with law enforcement is critical in catching perpetrators of human trafficking and identifying victims who need support.
These are just a few examples of One More Child’s incredible partnerships with government and legislative leaders. One More Child has also collaborated with members of congress, the FBI, the Secret Service, presidents, leaders of other countries, and more to impact vulnerable children and families. With our recent expansion into Texas, Ohio, Tennessee, and North Carolina, these partnerships continue to grow.
