How to Participate in the 2024 Giving Challenge

The Community Foundation of Sarasota County hosts this online giving event, connects approximately 700 nonprofit organizations with passionate donors and community members, and is a rallying point for diverse causes. 

The Patterson Foundation will match unique gifts between $25 and $100 made to One More Child through the Giving Challenge website during the 24 hours on a dollar-for-dollar basis.

The Giving Challenge is more than just a fundraising event. It acts as a connection catalyst for meaningful relationships and partnerships while providing $75 million in unrestricted funding to nonprofits over eight challenges since 2012.  

For One More Child, the Giving Challenge is a critical opportunity to impact the lives of vulnerable children. Children like 15-year-old trafficking survivor Lanita,* who faced numerous challenges throughout her teenage years.  

Struggling with substance misuse, strained family ties, mental health issues, and a series of runaway episodes, Lanita’s life took a difficult turn when she was groomed by older men online and eventually exploited.  

Finally, Lanita found support and guidance when she connected with One More Child’s Anti-Trafficking team. With the dedicated assistance of a therapist, advocate, and mentor, Lanita accomplished significant milestones, including securing her first job, making strides while on probation, and establishing a supportive network of friends.  

Currently working towards her GED, with plans to attend cosmetology school, Lanita has taken back control of her life and is pushing forward on her path to healing.

One More Child is a private, faith-based, 501(c)3 organization that has been providing life-changing services to vulnerable children and struggling families since 1904. Last year, the organization provided direct care services to 250,259 children and individuals and nearly 20 million meals nationally and globally. All of this was possible because more than 140,000 individuals said “yes” to training, volunteering, and awareness efforts.

2. Type “One More Child” in the search bar or click here.
3. Enter an amount between $25-$100. 
4. Click “Donate” to double the impact of your gift!
