AdventHealth has partnered with One More Child in Guatemala for the last 14 years, providing critical health care to the children and families we serve. During these mission trips, they identified a great need for children to have access to dental care. This led to a new collaboration with Sharing Smiles, an organization that provides dental care globally and is also a part of AdventHealth.
On Friday, June 7, 2024, One More Child opened a brand-new dental clinic in collaboration with Sharing Smiles and AdventHealth. Several leaders from Advent Health, who have served faithfully with One More Child in many capacities throughout the years, attended the inauguration at the clinic in person.
We were also excited to welcome several community leaders from Guatemala to the inauguration, including the president of the Baptist Convention of Guatemala, representatives from SVET (Guatemala’s Anti-Trafficking department), the Department of Child Welfare, as well as several other child welfare organizations and ministries.
AdventHealth and Sharing Smiles provided the necessary funding for the construction of the clinic as well as the expertise to make it fully functional. The new clinic has three separate rooms with dental chairs and essential equipment, a room for preparation and sterilization, and an additional space for a future X-ray machine.
One More Child is excited to see children receive critical dental care at this new clinic and would like to express gratitude for the generosity and expertise offered by AdventHealth and Sharing Smiles. Thank you for helping us reach one more child!
