One More Child’s Anti-Trafficking team recently conducted workshops in Nashville aimed at raising awareness and providing training to ministry leaders.
Jamie Kidd, National Director of Anti-Trafficking Teams at One More Child, was thrilled to be among those in attendance.
The objective of these workshops was to bridge the gap between the work of One More Child and the role of churches and individuals providing restorative care and healing to survivors of sex trafficking, as well as preventing vulnerable individuals from being trafficked.
The numbers are staggering. According to the Polaris Project, there were 51,073 substantive phone calls, texts, webchats, emails, or online tips reported nationwide about potential cases of sex trafficking. And as of 2018, 90% of victims met their trafficker online, according to Thorn Survivor Insights.
OUR SOLUTION
At One More Child, we believe every child in every city deserves to be protected from sex trafficking.
One More Child’s 24/7 Mobile Teams assess survivors’ needs, connect them to necessary community resources, provide them clinical services, and mentor them as they navigate their journey to emotional, physical, and mental recovery.
Kidd states, “We need everyone’s help to end sex trafficking and care for the vulnerable.” That includes churches, volunteers, and individuals who want to make a difference. One More Child encourages everyone to take action by volunteering to help with advocacy and prevention efforts or working directly with survivors, including tutoring, mentoring, and teaching life skills.
