Single Moms Community Program

One More Child’s Single Moms Community Program is a 10-week life skills program, providing essential resources and guidance to equip single moms for their journey to self-sufficiency. The program focuses on facilitating personal, professional, economic, and spiritual growth, empowering single moms to build stable futures for themselves and their children.

Highlights:

  • Community and Support: Dedicated mentors offer Christ-centered guidance and support while fostering connections with local church communities.
  • Successful Completion: In 2022, the Single Moms residential program served a total of 203 moms and their children.

Foster Care

In Ohio, there are more than 16,000 children in foster care. The Ohio office of Foster, Adoption and Kinship care reports more than 9,000 in the child welfare system living with foster parents; However, the state only has 7,200 licensed foster families to accommodate this need.

One More Child’s Foster Crew Initiative

When a family says “yes” to providing a loving, Christian home environment to displaced youth, One More Child mobilizes a community of faith and support to wrap around them and provide the help and resources necessary for successful foster placements.

Many roles make up a foster crew. Volunteer super sitters, household helpers, meal makers, prayer partners, and more rally together providing vital access to support and encouragement for foster parents and foster children!

Highlights:

  • Program Impact: In, 2022, One More Child served 1,329 foster children and provided 186,138 days of care across 52 counties in Florida, collaborating with 13 out of 16 lead Community-Based Care agencies.
  • Support for Caregivers: Through our Caregiver Emotional Support program, One More Child has served 217 caregivers and 491 children.
  • Support for Foster Families: One More Child currently supports 532 licensed foster care homes.

Anti-Trafficking

The Polaris Project reported a total of 51,073 credible instances of phone calls, texts, webchats, emails, or online tips alerting local authorities to potential cases of sex trafficking. According to Thorn Survivor Insights, as of 2018, 90% of survivors were introduced to their trafficker through online means.

At One More Child, we firmly believe that every child in every city should be safeguarded against sex trafficking.

One More Child’s 24/7 Anti-Trafficking Mobile Teams

Mobile Teams assess the needs of survivors, connect them with essential community resources, deliver clinical services, and provide mentorship throughout a survivor’s journey of emotional, physical, and mental recovery. Each mobile team consists of a supervisor, clinician, advocate, and peer mentor, forming a multidisciplinary approach to serving survivors.

Highlights:

  • Program Impact: 265 clients served by One More Child’s 24/7 mobile teams; 3,756 individuals impacted through education, advocacy, and awareness.
  • Recovery Support: In early 2023, One More Child collaborated with the United States Marshals Service in Operation We Will Find You, a nationwide initiative involving various agencies, leading to the rescue and care of 225 missing children, with 33 found in Central Florida. During the operation, One More Child’s Anti-Trafficking Mobile Teams played a crucial role, offering vital assistance and aftercare services to survivors at recovery sites in Florida for over two weeks.
