Like well blended sounds in a symphony, Angela’s* cupcakes were tremendous works of art; each one a masterpiece that highlighted her talent, her creativity and her exquisite taste. Often sought after as the showstopper to any event, Angela’s baked goods were as beautiful to the eyes as they were scrumptious to the palate. Things were really going well, and her business was making tremendous strides, when COVID-19 landed Angela a devastating blow.
A single mom of a teenage son, Angela struggled to make ends meet when her business took a direct hit during the pandemic.
In 2020 Angela started receiving COVID relief assistance through our Family Support program. When she learned about the Family Support workshops, Angela signed on to take full advantage of the classes, and she has been consistent in working on her goals, including getting her finances under control. Family Support has helped Angela take a more positive and proactive approach to her finances and has helped her monitor her spending and set sustainable goals.
Angela is hopeful as she looks to the future and believes she has been blessed by our Family Support Program, with the necessary tools to navigate her business in good times as well as when times are lean.
