Dr. Rick Wheeler

President & CEO of Florida Baptist Financial Services

A fourth-generation Florida native, Rick has lived nearly all of his life in the Sunshine State. In addition to serving eight years in the banking industry, Rick has over twenty years of experience in church and denominational leadership, serving on staff at Mandarin Baptist Church in Jacksonville, the Florida Baptist Convention and as the Lead Missional Strategist of the Jacksonville Baptist Association. In addition, he has provided leadership to several non-profit boards as well as the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention. Rick holds a BBA in Finance from the University of North Florida and both a Master of Arts and Ed.D. from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In addition to serving as President/CEO of Florida Baptist Financial Services, Rick serves as Executive Director/Treasurer of Florida Baptist Foundation and President of Church Growth Investment Fund, Inc.

Michael E. Batts

President & Managing Partner of Batts Morrison Wales & Lee

Mike Batts is the managing partner of BMWL.  Mike has more than 30 years of experience serving nonprofit organizations in a variety of ways.  He advises nonprofit organizations on matters related to board governance, financial reporting, tax compliance and strategy, risk management, corporate structure, international activities, and related topics.  Mike actively engages in nonprofit legislative matters at the federal and state levels.  He served on the Legal Framework Workgroup of the Panel on the Nonprofit Sector, a legislative advisory panel formed at the request of the US Senate Finance Committee Chairman.  He has served on and chaired the boards of nonprofit organizations, both nationally and locally.  He is a former chairman of the board and current board member of ECFA, a national organization that accredits religious nonprofit organizations in the areas of board governance and financial integrity.  He served as chairman of the Commission on Accountability and Policy for Religious Organizations, a national legislative advisory commission convened to address tax policy recommendations for Congress, the Treasury Department, the nonprofit sector, and the giving public.  Mike has authored several books covering a variety of topics important to nonprofit organizations, including books addressing board member responsibilities, financial administration, and unrelated business income.  Mike’s newest book is entitled Nonprofit Finance: The Field Guide for Financial Operations of Ministries, Schools, and Other Public Charities (Accountability Press, LLC).  His best-selling book, Board Member Orientation, is available in Spanish as well.  Mike is a summa cum laude graduate of Stetson University, where he studied accounting.  Mike received the Florida High Grade Award from having the highest score for the Florida CPA exam on his first sitting for the exam at the beginning of his career.  He is licensed or authorized to practice as a Certified Public Accountant in numerous states.  Mike leads BMWL’s national headquarters office in Orlando as well as its Dallas office.

Jodi Domangue

Acting Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Program Operations and Public Policy

Jodi serves as the Acting Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Program Operations and Public Policy One More Child. Since joining One More Child in 2014, Jodi has played a pivotal role in launching One More Child’s Anti-Trafficking program to include the opening of our first safe home and the establishment of our multi-disciplinary mobile teams. Under Jodi’s leadership, One More Child’s Anti-Trafficking services and expertise have impacted human trafficking survivors throughout the state of Florida, and have expanded to Tennessee, North Carolina, and Ohio. Jodi’s expertise has been sought on a local and national level in the areas of public policy, child safety, community collaboration, trauma competency, and self-care.

In addition to the work she has done in our Anti-Trafficking program, Jodi has also held in key leadership roles in One More Child’s Foster Care program and as the Executive Director of the Single Moms program where she oversaw five residential campus locations, and was integral in launching One More Child’s Single Moms Community Program which allows us to bring aid to single moms throughout the U.S. and internationally, helping them to break the cycles of poverty.

She began her career at the Department of Children and Families where she worked on the state of Florida’s first specialized unit investigating human trafficking cases and became a certified human trafficking specialist. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and criminology and a master’s degree in criminology from Florida State University.

Dr. David Uth

Senior Pastor at First Orlando

Dr. David Uth serves and has served as the Senior Pastor of First Orlando since 2005. Before moving to Florida, he pastored churches in Louisiana,Arkansas and Texas. David grew up in Arkansas as the son of a pastor, and at theage of 19 was ordained and began pastoring his first church. He graduated with aB.A. in Religion in 1979 from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas where he met his wife, Rachel. David then received his Masters of Divinity and Ph.D. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas where he also taught New Testament as an adjunct professor.

Along with serving the churches and communities where he pastored, he has also been honored to serve as the President of the Florida Baptist Convention and Chairman of the International Mission Board of Trustees.

David and Rachel have three grown children; Joshua, Hannah, and Andrew, who ismarried to Kayla, and now have two wonderful grandchildren, Sawyer Beau and Ivy Brooke.

Every year, BCCF plans speakers and sessions to be informative and engaging. It is also a great networking opportunity, particularly during meals and break sessions. Information-sharing and brainstorming occurs related to specific programs and roles. We encourage you to bring your president, vice president, administrators, and any other leaders within your organization.
