Jacksonville, Florida (JAX-Apr-05-2025)
Thank you for your heart to serve in Jacksonville, Florida!
A population over 935,000 makes Jacksonville the most populous city proper in Florida, located in the Northeastern part of the Sunshine state, just South of the Georgia state line. Jacksonville is home to beautiful beaches along the Atlantic coast as well as numerous nature parks while offering abundant outdoor recreational activities.
However, Florida faces many challenges like human trafficking crimes and a high number of children in foster care. Over 2.3 million people face hunger of which more than 600,000 are children. (“Meal Gap Study 2023 (2021 data)” Feeding America 2023). Over 115,000 food insecure people live in Duval County alone. Additionally, the city has a large population of immigrants and refugees since 12% of Jacksonville residents were born outside the country. That’s why One More Child partners with a local ministry aiming to provide a safe place where kids from other cultural backgrounds experience transformation through education, the arts, nutrition, and strategic events. Join us on a mission trip to Jacksonville!
