FINDING HOPE IN FRIENDSHIP WITH JESUS

When our ministry partner staff in Romania, first met Narcisa, she was distant, agitated, unfriendly, and shot down any opportunity for communication. During a shopping trip, our partner tried to engage with Narcisa and encourage her to spend time with the other girls, but she remained closed off to interaction.

The following week, when the team was cooking with this same group of girls, Narcisa finally started to open up. Our ministry partner wanted to continue this conversation and further build trust, so they made plans to meet up and have more discussions.

Recently, One More Child embarked on a mission trip to Costa Rica with a Baylor medical team. With the team’s medical expertise and resources, they were able to provide services that met the health needs of the community.

SMALLER CLASSROOMS, BIGGER OPPORTUNITIES FOR DANIEL

Daniel lives with his family in a small village in Uganda as one of the youngest among his seven siblings. His father is a laborer who mainly carries items for people in exchange for a little bit of money, making it difficult for him to properly care for his family. Daniel has received an education through public school, but his classes often have over 100 children in one room. The many distractions make it hard for him to learn and focus on the teaching.

VICTORY IN NICARAGUA

Last month, One More Child’s ministry in Nicaragua, specifically the youth ministry, participated in a soccer tournament that brought fun, laughter, friendly competition, and, most importantly, the opportunity to share the Word of God. This morning of soccer ended with our church team emerging as the champions, but the time spent at this event will have a more profound impact.

This soccer tournament gave the youth ministry the opportunity to strengthen friendships, promote teamwork, and share their faith in God. Our ministry partner prays the seeds planted in the hearts of these youth will grow into a desire to live and serve according to His will.

FREEDOM FOR LAILA

Growing up in a rural area in South Asia, Laila’s life has largely been characterized by fear, pain, and despair. She has a medical condition that causes her left foot to swell up, which led others to begin calling her a witch. But that is not the end of her story because one day our ministry partner met Laila and the trajectory of her life began to change.

SECONDARY EDUCATION FOR MANUEL

Through One More Child’s scholarship program, young boys and girls receive an education when they likely wouldn’t otherwise. One student who attends school through this program is Manuel, a bright teenage boy who lives with his family in Guatemala. He just finished elementary school and was presented with the opportunity to transition into our partners’ scholars program to start his secondary education. However, his family informed our partners they would not be able to continue supporting Manuel’s education.

HOUSING AND NUTRITION FOR DIECI’S FAMILY

In 2016, Dieci and her family moved to One More Child’s “Hope Village” in the Dominican Republic, and since making this place their home, their lives have changed tremendously.

The support from One More Child comes to this family as they struggle with unemployment. Dieci’s mother, Rogelina, remains unemployed despite her degree in early education due to the lack of employment opportunities in the country, and her husband, Luis, also remains unemployed despite his experience as a master builder.

Dieci’s parents have struggled to provide for their family, but through the support of One More Child’s sponsorship program, they have assurance their children will receive nutritious meals. We continue to pray for God’s provision over this family!

FOOD BASKETS FOR ELIAN

Elian Joel is a young boy from Colombia who lives with his parents. While his mother struggles to find a stable job, she sells eggs to keep them afloat. Thankfully, they receive nutritional support through One More Child’s sponsorship program. This has been their main support during this difficult year. Elian and his family faithfully attend church, always learning and growing in their faith. We thank God and our sponsors for the faithful support provided to families like Elian’s.

EDUCATION FOR MACDALINIA

This year, 3-year-old Macdalinia is attending preschool for the first time. She lives in Haiti with her parents and two sisters and receives support through One More Child for her education. At school, she loves her teachers, playing with friends, learning many wonderful things, and most of all—coloring.

She is grateful to One More Child and her sponsor for the support towards her education and, in the midst of difficult circumstances, she feels happy and blessed to be able to attend school.

REGULAR MEALS AT SCHOOL FOR ANA

Hello brothers and sisters of One More Child,

My name is Ana and I am a third grade student in El Salvador. I am so happy to be a part of both the sponsorship and feeding programs here at the school! Now, my mom does not have to worry about the bills as much or about things I need for school. I arrive at school around noon every day so I can have lunch with my classmates before classes start for the day. There are quite a few of us that eat lunch at school.

I also want to share how God is blessing my family. Right now, my mom is serving at a ministry called “Love in Action” and she also helps cook breakfast and lunch at the school. I am so thankful and happy. May God continue blessing you greatly!
