Join Us February 28th in Texas!

Out of 1.6 million online commercial sex advertisements posted in Texas, nearly 224,000 of those are believed to have sold children, according to recent data from the Texas Attorney General’s office.

Organizations like One More Child play a pivotal role in educating communities on how to identify trafficking victims, report incidents, and call an end to the exploitation of vulnerable individuals.

Leon Battle, One More Child’s Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, sat down with KBTX 3 News along with Brandy Tuck, Community Events Liaison at Texas A&M University, for an interview to discuss the upcoming anti-trafficking education event that will be hosted in the University’s Rudder Auditorium on February 28th.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m., and as a token of gratitude, the first 1,500 attendees will receive a free T-shirt. The event begins at 7:00 p.m.

KBTX’s Karla Castillo will emcee the evening, adding a local touch. The event will feature special guests such as Rebecca Bender, a survivor and leading anti-trafficking advocate, and her daughter Deshae Wise. This recent Texas A&M alumna starred on the University’s track team. One More Child leadership, including President and CEO Dr. Jerry Haag, One More Child Ambassador Christi Haag, and Executive Director of Anti-Trafficking Jodi Domangue, will also share insights as part of the forum alongside local law enforcement, child welfare, and anti-trafficking partners.

At One More Child, bringing Christ-centered services to vulnerable children and families is at the core of our mission. Last year, we provided 250,259 children and individuals direct care services, distributed more than 19 million meals nationally and globally, and 140,000 individuals said “yes” to training, volunteering, and awareness efforts.

You, too, can join the fight against trafficking and help protect the most vulnerable. RSVP to attend the event or discover how you can engage your local community to make an impact.
