Miami, the second-largest city in Florida, is located in the Southeast of the Sunshine state with a population of more than 460,000. This area is highly developed with hotels, restaurants, shopping plazas and attractions while bounded by two national parks – the Everglades and Biscayne.
However, there are many challenges like the lack of affordable housing, mental health concerns and drug use. In Miami-Dade County, 52% of the population lacks basic prose literacy skills and more than 10% of students don’t finish high school. Around 270,000 people face food insecurity in the Miami-Dade area while 1 out of 4 residents of Miami lives in poverty. Our Miami campus serves many communities across South Florida. MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES IN MIAMI
Teams on a mission trip to Miami have the opportunity to play a part in the holistic and comprehensive outreach programs. Opportunities for mission teams may include:
- Participate in a Metro-Rail prayer ride (praying over areas of the city while riding the Metro-Rail transportation).
- Provide wrap-around care for foster families in the area at a local partner church.
- Provide for the needs of sex-trafficking survivors through Glory House Miami.
- Serve single moms by helping facilitate their Thursday night class and/or offering car washes for the moms.
- Serve at a local church.
- Volunteer your time at several offsite ministries nearby including:
- Homeless ministry (MIAMI RESCUE MISSION).
- Christian pregnancy center (Pregnancy Options Miami).
- Christian holistic programming center for kids, youth, and families (Touching Miami with Love).

Sponsor a Child
Child Sponsorship meets the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of children all around the world. For only $42 a month you can provide critical nutrition, education, medical care, and opportunities to grow spiritually to a child in poverty. You will also be able to build a relationship with your sponsored child through letters. Join a global mission trip with One More Child to visit your sponsored child.
