Anti-Trafficking

The Polaris Project reported a total of 51,073 credible instances of phone calls, texts, webchats, emails, or online tips alerting local authorities to potential cases of sex trafficking. According to Thorn Survivor Insights, as of 2018, 90% of survivors were introduced to their trafficker through online means.

At One More Child, we firmly believe that every child in every city should be safeguarded against sex trafficking.

One More Child’s 24/7 Anti-Trafficking Mobile Teams

Mobile Teams assess the needs of survivors, connect them with essential community resources, deliver clinical services, and provide mentorship throughout a survivor’s journey of emotional, physical, and mental recovery. Each mobile team consists of a supervisor, clinician, advocate, and peer mentor, forming a multidisciplinary approach to serving survivors.

Highlights:

  • Program Impact: 265 clients served by One More Child’s 24/7 mobile teams; 3,756 individuals impacted through education, advocacy, and awareness.
  • Recovery Support: In early 2023, One More Child collaborated with the United States Marshals Service in Operation We Will Find You, a nationwide initiative involving various agencies, leading to the rescue and care of 225 missing children, with 33 found in Central Florida. During the operation, One More Child’s Anti-Trafficking Mobile Teams played a crucial role, offering vital assistance and aftercare services to survivors at recovery sites in Florida for over two weeks.

Jamie Zeigler

Executive Director of Anti-Trafficking

Jamie Zeigler serves as One More Child’s Executive Director of Anti-Trafficking, overseeing anti-trafficking teams across all areas of service.

Advocating for the vulnerable and survivors of crime has been the center point of Jamie’s professional life. She joined One More Child after serving as an Assistant District Attorney for almost a decade.

As a prosecutor, Jamie first chaired many criminal jury trials including cases for first-degree murder and sex trafficking.  Prior to her position at the District Attorney’s office, she served as the Assistant Dean for Administration at Cecil C. Humphrey’s School of Law. While in law school, she oversaw all student advocacy programs as the Chief Justice of Moot Court and was on the law review.

She has an undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University and a juris doctor from The University of Memphis.

Jamie, however, is most proud of her roles as wife to Will and mother to five boys.  Memphis residents are likely to see them around town supporting their sons’ endeavors of acting in community theatre, choir competitions, soccer, flag football, and baseball.  They attend Harvest Church in Germantown, TN.
